ASA H. GORDON

The first faculty member of Georgia State College (Savannah State) to publish a book was Dr. Asa Gordon for which the library was named. Dr. Gordon was born in Monticello, Georgia and died in Savannah, Georgia in 1957. Dean of the College from 1928-1936, Dr. Gordon was also the director of Research and Publications from 1939 to 1941.
