Herty Hall
A two-story brick science and agriculture building, constructed mostly with federal funds. Named in honor of Dr. Charles Holmes Herty, who was a chemist born in Milledgeville, Georgia, December 4, 1867, and died July 27, 1938. He was a graduate of the University of Georgia and received the Ph.D. degree from Johns Hopkins University in 1890. He pioneered in the development of newsprint fromGeorgiapine trees.
