Goal of PSLSAMP
The Peach State Louis Stokes Alliance for Minority Participation (PSLSAMP) aims at increasing
the quality and quantity of underrepresented minority students successfully completing science, technology,
engineering and mathematics (STEM) baccalaureate degree programs, and increasing the number of students
interested in, academically qualified for and matriculated into programs of graduate study.

Dear COST Colleagues,
About 60 MAGEC-STEM and PSLSAMP scholars have participated in the 2007 Summer Research Internship programs at SSU under
your supervision and at other collaborating institutions. These students have presented their research at the following national
conferences, and more than 25 students received the best Oral and Poster awards.

- HBCU-UP National Conference, October 4-7, Washington, DC
- Annual Biomedical Research Conference for Minority Students (ABRCMS), November 7-10, Austin, TX
- ASA-CSSA-SSA Conference, November 5-7, New Orleans, LA
- EPA-Southeast Regional Environmental Science & Health Symposium, November 14, Atlanta, GA
These award winners will be presented with Plaques/Certificates by the organizers, the President Dr. Earl G. Yarbrough Sr., and the VPAA Dr. Mary C. Wyatt.
You are invited to attend the Awards Ceremony at 2:00 PM on Wednesday, November 28 at STEM Center.
