Goal of PSLSAMP

The Peach State Louis Stokes Alliance for Minority Participation (PSLSAMP) aims at increasing the quality and quantity of underrepresented minority students successfully completing science, technology, engineering and mathematics (STEM) baccalaureate degree programs, and increasing the number of students interested in, academically qualified for and matriculated into programs of graduate study.

SSU Scholars Scoop Awards
at PSLSAMP Forum & Research Conference in Atlanta

SSU-PSLSAMP and MAGEC-STEM scholars staged an outstanding performance in the PSLSAMP's First Annual Fall Forum and Research Conference held at Southern Polytechnic State University (SPSU) in Marietta, GA on October 19-21, 2006. The SSU scholars received 5 out of 6 total awards for the best oral and poster presentations in the group of Technology, Engineering & Mathematics disciplines.

Savannah State University was represented by a contingent of 44 STEM students (19 PSLSAMP and 25 MAGEC-STEM) and 5 faculty members. Twenty three students presented papers and/or posters.
