The Biology and Life Science Program at Savannah State University is housed in several buildings on campus, with the main components residing in the Drew-Griffith building at the southwest end of campus. The Marine Science program is based in the Marine Science building on the marsh off the circle on the original northeast end of campus. The department also works with adjunct faculty at the Skidaway Institute of Oceanography on nearby Skidaway Island.

The Drew-Griffith building houses specialized labs for Biotechnology, Environmental Science and Physiology, where faculty members, research associates, and students are engaged in ongoing research.
