Bachelor Degree Overview

The curriculum in Biology is designed for those students who are interested in careers in the life sciences, including various biomedical careers, basic or applied research, or industrial fields. The course of study outlined below is a general plan, and any individual student would select their own unique curriculum with the aid of their faculty advisor.

Biology 1301 and 1401 are intended for entering freshman in order to introduce them to the major while enrolled in the introductory chemistry courses (Chemistry 1211, 1211L, 1212, 1212L). Students who have had a chemistry course in high school are encouraged to enroll in Biology 1107K (Principles of Biology I). Transfer or AP students should enroll in Biology 1107K. As always, all courses should be discussed with your advisor.
