The goal of the Savannah State University Chapter of the NAACP is to create the next generation of leaders by teaching the important events of our past to help make informed decision today to prepare us for our future.  

 

Our Mission:

·         To keep students abreast of local and national current events

·         To discuss how these issues affect our lives

·         To pursue an in dept understanding of the issues that are most germane to their lives, through research and field studies

·         To discuss such issues and implement methods which will change these issues for the better

·         To identify resources for individuals in need

·         To educate and advocate for those who are unaware of their rights

·         To teach students’ to become self empowered and independent

·         To improve the students’ ability to:

Ø       Identify goals

Ø       Identify values

Ø       Identify rights

 

Ø       Understand the political and social environment          

Ø       Present themselves in a professional environment

Ø       Identify resources

Ø       Improve leadership skills

 

To work in union with the local and national NAACP bodies.
