Welcome to our website!

Welcome to the Savannah State University Office of Graduate Studies and Sponsored Research. This office manages the graduate programs and the sponsored research activities of the University.

The University offers graduate (master's) degrees through five accredited programs: business administration, marine sciences, social work, public administration, and urban studies. Of the approximately 3,000 students enrolled at the University, 150 are enrolled in master's programs. The Office of Graduate Studies is committed to growing and developing these programs to best serve the future educational needs of our students and our region. Our mission is to support master's graduates in their attainment of professional occupations or to further their education in doctoral programs.

The Office of Sponsored Research Administration (OSRA) oversees approximately thirty-five externally-funded grants, which annually provide the University about $7 million in non-state revenues. These revenues support faculty research, student research, curriculum development, and institutional development in all academic areas of the University -- from math, science, and engineering to the social sciences and liberal arts. Scholarly activity and grants funding are important means to strengthen the University and to enhance the overall educational opportunities at Savannah State. The mission of the OSRA is to assist all University faculty and staff in their scholarly activities and grants funding.

Whether you are a prospective student, fellow academician, or community partner, we welcome the opportunity to talk to you about our graduate programs and our sponsored research opportunities. Please contact me at (912) 353-3057 and I will be happy to discuss with you our programs and services.

Regards,

Dr. Chellu Chetty

Dean, Graduate Studies and Sponsored Research
