Please note that reserved parking spaces are now marked behind or
beside the space. These spaces are reserved 24 hours a day, 7 days a
week. If you park in a reserved parking space that you have not
purchased from the University, your vehicle will be ticketed, booted, and/or towed.

Resident - $30 per year
Commuter - $25 per
year
Faculty/Staff
- $65
per year*
Reserved - $125 per year*
*may be paid for through payroll deduction
How do I get a parking decal?
First complete an application and pay for
your decal at the University Cashier’s Office. There are three types of
applications:
· Student
Parking Permit
· Faculty/Staff/Contractor
Parking Permit
· Reserved
Parking Subscription Form
The Cashier’s Office takes checks, credit
cards, and cash. Employees may also use payroll deduction (forms available
at the Cashier’s Office).
Where can I park?
Depending on your classification
(resident, commuter, faculty/staff, or reserved), you will be given a
specific decal color. You must park in a parking lot that has that decal
color on the sign. If you are a resident student, you must park in the
parking lot closest to your residence hall. If you have a reserved space,
you may park in any other legal spot on campus that is not another reserved
spot. For additional information on decals, please see
Parking
Decal Instructions.
How is parking enforced?
Parking is enforced by Savannah State
University Department of Public Safety. Cars found in violation may be
ticketed, booted, or towed. For information on appeals, please see the
Parking Plan. This plan
was created by a committee representing students, faculty, staff, and
administrators, who worked over the past year to help resolve some of the
traffic problems we have had on campus.
How do I request a vehicle for
off-campus transportation?
All vehicle requests (other than rental
cars) are now handled by the Department of Parking and Transportation, in
Auxiliary Services. These are the documents you will need to request
transportation:
· Vehicle
Reservation Form
· Vehicle
Fees
How do I catch the shuttle?
In order to assist the University community in
complying with our parking restrictions, we are providing a shuttle service
throughout campus. The shuttle runs continuously from 7:30 a.m. – 4:00 p.m.
Mondays through Fridays when classes are held. Stops are located at Tiger
Arena, Felix Alexis Circle in front of King-Frazier, Hubert A, and the
overflow parking lot next to University Village across from Drew-Griffith.
It takes about 15 minutes for the complete run through campus.
For assistance, please contact the
Auxiliary Services Office at 912-356-2771. |
