DPSPAUS will present a guest lecture by Dr. Ashenafi G. Woldegebriel, a Fulbright scholar at teh Department of Urban Design and Planning, University of Washington and an assistant professor of urban design and planning at Addis Ababa University in Ethiopia, on Friday, February 29th , 2008 at 10:00 AM - noon in the Conference Room Whiting Hall. Dr. Woldegebriel will give a lecture titled "The Challenges of Planning and Building Sustainable Urban Communities in Developing Countries."
DPSPAUS will present a lecture on the United Nations by Mr. R. Dinesen, Counselor of the Danish Mission to the United Nations, on Friday, January 25th , 2008 at 11:00 AM in the Elmore Theater. Mr. R. Dinesen will give a lecture titled "The United Nations: Is it Useful and Relevant in the 21st Century?" He will share the views of his country and of most of Europe to this important question about the future of the United Nations, the organization created after WW II to ensure peace and prevent future global conflicts.
