Ms. Smashum is a 2004 graduate of Savannah Technical College with a diploma in Early Childhood Education. Her band resume includes a position as leader of the clarinet section for two years. She was also in the saxophone section for one year, and played in the concert band for a year. Ms. Smashum is an honorary member of the Iota Zeta Chapter of Tau Beta Sigma National Band Sorority, Inc. at Savannah State University.
