The Savannah State University Marching Tigers Band, AKA "The Coastal Empire Sound Explosion," is an exciting part of the Tiger spirit and tradition. Comprised of over 100 students with various majors and interests, the band is the single largest student organization on campus. Members participate in a quality music ensemble developing social and professional skills and traveling with a wide range of students.

The Marching Tigers practice a southern show band style and the gait is a precision high-step with light applications of corps-glide. They pride their program on musically effective rehearsals coupled with efficient and productive use of time. The desirable Klassy Kitties Danceline and precision twirling Tiger Streak Flag Corps add to the 'esprit de corps' of the organization and many friendships are created through the fun and camaraderie experienced in both rehearsals and performances... in the stands... on the field... in the fifth quarter... and more!
