The College of Liberal Arts and Social Sciences (CLASS) offers programs that provide broad-based learning in a variety of subjects to develop your critical thinking abilities, communication skills, work experience and community involvement. Our highly qualified professors teach in small classroom settings and take the time to get to know you as an individual. They will encourage you to express yourself creatively in an environment that is challenging yet supportive.
An undergraduate or graduate degree through any one of our excellent academic programs will prepare you for success in your chosen field of study. You will receive the attention you deserve and will learn more about yourself and the world around you in the caring academic environment we provide. We also help you incorporate classroom theory with real world experience through internships and community service opportunities that will give you an extra edge as you pursue a career.

Savannah State Univeristy is accredited by the Commission on Colleges of the Southern Association of Colleges and Schools (1866 Southern Lane, Decatur, Georgia 30033-4097; Telephone number 404.679.4501) to award the associate, baccalaureate, and master's degree. Specifically, following a rigorous site visit in January 1999, the Commission on Colleges awarded Savannah State University membership at Level III to offer the Master of Public Administration and Master of Social Work degrees.
