Robinson earns Newcomer of the Week honor

SAVANNAH, Ga. -- Savannah State University center Patrice “Nikki” Robinson was the named the Independent Newcomer of the Week for the second time this season.

In four games for Savannah State, Robinson averaged 9.5 points and 5.3 rebounds, as the Tigers went 3-1 during two weeks of play. In SSU’s 71-62 victory over Louisiana-Lafayette, Robinson came off the bench to score a game-high 21 points along with six rebounds and one block.

She averaged six rebounds in three of SSU’s four games and had four steals and three blocks during the two-week span.

The weekly independent awards are nominated and voted on by sports informa¬tion directors at NCAA Division I independent schools.
