Stallworth Leads SSU at Orange and Purple Classic

CLEMSON, S.C.- Marcus Stallworth finished third in the 110m hurdles and fourth in the 400m hurdles to lead Savannah State at Clemson's Orange and Purple Classic held at Rock Norman Track.
Stallworth had a time of 14.65 in the 110m hurdles and finished with a time of 53.64 in the 400m hurdles race.
In other races for the SSU men, Willie Ross was 15 in the 100m, Joseph Ferguson was 13th in the 200m while on the 400m race Vernon Williams finished sixth and O'Bryan Clemons was 11th.
Tyrone McCoy was 12th in the 800m race and eighth in the 1500m. Willie Ross was ninth in the 110m hurdles and Shawn Sovnenir was fourth in the long jump.
Mekela Martin and Sharonda Redfield paced the SSU women with a fifth place finishes in the 400m and the triple jump respectively. Martin had a time of 1:00.99 in the 400m race while Redfield had a leap of 10.76m in the triple jump.
Katryna Williams finished 18th in the 100m race while in the 200m SSU's Martin, Williams, DaLisha Crowder and CaLisha Crowder all finished in the ninth through 12th spots.
Victoria Burch was ninth in the 100m hurdles and sixth in the 400m hurdles. Williams was sixth in the long jump and DaLisha Crowder was right behind in the seventh spot. DaLisha also finished sixth in the triple jump. |
