Tigers End Season at Georgia Tech

ATLANTA, Ga- Samuel Henry won his heats in the men's 1500m and 800m races to lead Savannah State at the Georgia Tech Invitational held May 11-12 at Griffin Track.

Henry won his heat in the 1500m with a time of 4:05.87 and finished 23rd overall. His time of 1:58.03 in the 800m race was good enough to place him 47th overall.

In the men's 400m, Rodney Hamilton was second in his heat with a time of 48.78. O'Bryan Clemons  and Kevin Murray ran in the same heat Clemons time of 48.39 placed him fourth and Murray's time of 49.63 placed him sixth.

Rashard Freeman (55.21) was seventh in his heat of the 400m hurdles, Marcus Stallworth (56.94) was seventh in his heat of the 400m hurdles, Dustin Stevens (21.93) was second in his heat of the 200m race and the SSU men's 4x400m relay team placed 13th with a time of 3:13.83. Freeman posted a time of 17.18 and was sixth in his heat of the 110m hurdles.

For the Savannah State women, Mekala Martin's time of 59.38 was good enough to place her second in her heat of the 400m race and 34th overall.

In the 400m hurdles, Victoria Burch (1:05.92) was sixth in her heat while in the 100m hurdles, Nakisha Thompson (14.81) was sixth in her heat and Valentina Howard (15.52) was fifth in her heat.
