SSU Competes In Penn Relays

PHILADELPHIA, Pa- The Savannah State track and field team participated in the 113th Penn Relays April 26-28 at Franklin Field.
Freshman Rodney Hamilton posted the best result for the Tiger program by finishing 12th in the men's long jump. The Savannah native had a leap of 6.70.
Chris Blount's leap of 13.51 was good enough to place him 23rd in the triple jump.
The men's 4x400m relay team placed 34th in their heat with a time of 3:16.72 while the men's sprint medley relay team was 37th with a time of 3:34.98.
In the men's 400m hurdles, Rashad Freeman was 47th with a run of 56.87 and Marcus Stallworth was not far behind, finishing 51st with a time of 57.14.
For the SSU women, Victoria Burch's time of 1:04 placed her 41st in the 400m hurdles.
The women's 4x400m relay team made up of Mekela Martin, Burch, Valentina Howard and Dalisha Crowder finished seventh in their heat and 70th overall with a time of 4:05.27.
