Howard Claims Third In Triple Jump

GAINESVILLE, Fl- Junior Valentina Howard had a leap of 11.62m to claim third in the college division of the women's triple jump in the 63rd Annual Pepsi Florida Relays held at James G. Pressly Stadium at Percy Beard Track.

The Savannah State women's 4x100m relay team placed fourth in their event with a time of 1:01.91.

Victoria Burch was 20th in the women's 400m hurdles with a time of 1:03.82 and Nakisha Thompson's time of 14.71 was good enough to place her 25th in the women's 100m hurdles.

Chris Blount was fourth in the college division of the men's triple jump with a leap of 13.73m to lead the SSU men.

Rodney Hamilton placed sixth in the long jump with a jump of 6.89m while Blount was eighth with 6.78m. Also placing eighth in their event was the men's 4x100m relay team with a time of 41.80.

Kevin Murray was 14th in the 400m with a run of 48.42. His time broke the old meet record of 48.62 set in 1999.

Sam Henry's time of 4:03.40 was good enough for 17th in the 1500m run and his time of 1:57.78 placed him 30th in the 800m race.

Dustin Stevens was 22nd in the 100m race with a run of 10.88 while Brandon Norman finished 27th in the 110m hurdles with a time of 15.27.
