Assistant Coach/2nd Year:
Raheem Waller
Raheem Waller enters his 2nd season as an assistant coach at SSU. His primary duties will include: weight training, travel and working with the SSU post players.
Waller comes to SSU after spending three seasons as an assistant men’s basketball coach at Elizabeth City State University. Prior, he served as a volunteer assistant coach at his alma mater, South Carolina State University in 1999.
Waller received his Bachelor’s of Science degree in Industrial Technology from the SCSU in 1999. While at SCSU he was a four-year letterman in basketball and served as the team captain from 1997-1999. He was one of the key components in the Bulldogs winning two MEAC Championships and claiming two Black College National Championships. For his efforts, Waller was named to the All-MEAC 1st and 2nd team during his college career
After graduation, Waller’s first professional job was with the Rochester Skeeters in Minnesota in the IBA League in 1999. He earned honorable mention while playing with the Skeeters. Waller then played professional basketball in Europe (France, Switzerland, Belgium, Saudi Arabia, and Portugal).
