Balanced Scoring Leads FAU Over Tigers

BOCA RATON, FL- Florida Atlantic had five players to score in double figures in a 94-68 win over Savannah State in the FAU Arena.

Jeff Parmer and Paul Graham scored 18 points each for he Owls (9-14). Carlos Monroe had 13, Sean Alarcon scored 12 and Xavier Perkins chipped in 11.

As a team, FAU shot 55.1 percent from the floor and hit 46.7 of their 3-point attempts.

SSU took an early 4-3 lead but the Owls used a 18-2 run to go ahead 21-6 with 14:33 left. FAU led by as many as 16 in the first half and led 46-36 at intermission.

Savannah State sliced their deficit to two early in the second period but FAU used a 9-1 spurt to push their lead back to 10 with 12:33 remaining.

With 10:17 left, the Tigers trailed by five but a 23-8 run by FAU dashed any hopes for a SSU comeback.

SSU (10-16) had four players in double figures. Chris Linton had 15 points. Joe Flegler and Anthony Jones had 11 each and Jovonni Shuler added 10.
