SSU men's golf finishes second at Alabama A&M Golf Classic

Scottsboro, Ala. - Jon Lehman finished first overall to lead the Savannah
State University men's golf team to a second place finish at the Alabama A&M
Golf Classic on Tuesday. The event was held at Goose Pond Colony Resort in
Scottsboro, Ala.
Lehman finished first out of a field of 44 participants with a two-day score
of 141 (-3). The Florence, Kentucky native shot a 71 on day one and 70 on
Tuesday. Lehman finished the second round tied for first, but won the hird
playoff hole claiming first place honors over Alcorn State's Marlo Lamela.
SSU completed the event second out of nine schools with a combined score of
590 (298-292). Arkansas-Pine Bluff won the event with a score of 587
(291-296), and Alabama State University rounded out the top three with a
score of 605 (307-298).
Savannah State's Billy Daly tied for 8th with a score of 148 (+4), Jamie
Montgomery tied for 17th with a score of 153 (+9), Riley Baxter finished
21st with a score of 155 (+11), and Zac Gelow rounded out the Tiger
competitors finishing 26th with a score of 1158 (+14).
SSU finished the first day in second place with a score of 298. Jon Lehman
finished the round in a tie for second place with a score of 71, Billy Daly
and Jamie Montgomery tied for 8th with a score of 75(+3).
SSU will be back in action this Saturday in the S.C. State Spring
Invitational, which will be hosted by South Carolina State University in
Orangeburg, S.C.
