Tigers Take Two From AAMU

HUNTSVILLE, AL- Savannah State swept a double-header from Alabama A&M at Bulldog Field by scores of 9-5 and 11-2.
In game one, SSU broke a tie game with five runs in the top of the sixth.
Brett Pointer, who hit a two-run homer in the fifth, had four RBI and two hits while Brian Johnson drove in two runs. Santos Adames scored twice. Michael Allegretti got the win after giving up three earned runs in six innings of work.
In the nightcap, the Tigers scored nine runs off 11 hits in the final three innings to break open a close game.
SSU led 2-1 entering the top of the fifth but scored twice in the fifth, five times in the sixth and twice more in the seventh.
Brandon Javis and David Washington had three hits each for Savannah State. Javis scored three times while Washington had three RBI. Alfred Arnold had two doubles for SSU. Kyle Wilkerson, Andrew Mendez, and Glen Wormley also had two hits apiece for the Tigers.
Robert Ramsdale hurled six innings on the mound and struck out five batters to earn the win.
