Savannah State University
Dawson also assists in the coordination and activities related to the NCAA CHAMPS/Lifeskills program designed to insure students’ growth and development socially and professionally. He is 1995 graduate of Savannah State University with a degree in Sociology. Dawson recently received his Master of Public Administration degree from SSU in the fall of 2005. Dawson comes to athletics after spending six years in the Enrollment Management Division. He assisted in the planning and implementation of university wide testing, student advisement and student recruiting. Dawson serves as an advisor to the SSU chapter of NAACP, Achievers of Today and Tomorrow, Inc., and sophomore Class while assisting in the advisement of several other campus organizations. For the past year he has served as Co-Chair of the SSU Homecoming festivities and is on numerous other campus committees. Dawson is single and resides in Savannah, Ga. |

Shed Dawson Jr. is entering his second year as Assistant Athletic Director for Academic Services at Savannah State University. He is responsible for the academic progress of all student athletes and student volunteers in the campus’ 15 collegiate sports programs.
