Savannah State University
As the Director of Compliance, her responsibilities will include: certifying that the athletics program adheres to all NCAA regulations, which includes eligibility, recruitment, the NCAA Clearinghouse, playing and practice seasons, reporting potential NCAA violations and financial aid. As the SWA, she is the liaison for all gender equity and minority related issues within the SSU Athletics department. Jackson joins the SSU administrative staff from Morehead State University where she served as an Assistant Athletics Directors as well as the Senior Women’s Administrator. Prior, she held the same positions at Clark Atlanta University from June 2001 to May 2003. A native of Baton Rouge, La., Jackson received her bachelor’s degree from Southern (La.) University in broadcast and print journalism with a minor in public relations in 1986. While there, she was a member of the cheerleading squad. She earned her Master of Business Administration from Clark Atlanta in 1991. She belongs to many organizations, including the Georgia Women’s Intersport Network, Women in Sports and Events, Black Women’s Sports Foundation, the Women’s Sport Foundation, Sports Divas and she serves as the chair of the Marketing committee for the National Association of Collegiate Women Athletics Administrators. Most recently, Jackson became one of twenty women to graduate from Leadership Institute of Ethnic Minority Females. She is single and resides in Savannah, Ga. She has a 10-year-old son, Blake. |

Paula Jackson enters her second year as the Assistant Athletic Director of Compliance and begins her first year as Senior Women’s Administrator at Savannah State University.
