Residential Services and Programs

Identification Cards

1.        How do I get a Student ID?

You have to get your Student ID at the Center for Residential Services and Programs/ID-card Station within the first 2 weeks of each semester. If you already have a Student-ID you will have to get your updated semester sticker within the first two weeks of the semester. The ID-Card Station is open in the first 2 weeks of the semester from 8:00 am to 5:00 pm and after that MON - FRI between 10:00 am and 2:30 pm.

Students which attend Savannah State University in the evening hours will have the chance during the first  week of the semester to receive their ID-Card till 7:00 pm.

To get an ID you need Driver's License and a statement showing you have paid your tuition and fees. The first ID a student receives is free. If you lose your ID then you will have to pay a $20.00 fee to get a new one.

2.        What is my ID good for?

You need your ID to eat if you are on the meal plan, to get into the Health Center, recreational facilities, athletic events, or to check books out of the library; it is also good for a second form of identification. Your Identification Card is also your primary form of identification while attending Savannah State University.  You must wear and display your ID-card on campus at ALL times for security reasons.
