The Environmental Safety Office is committed to fostering a safe and healthful environment for students, employees and visitors to Savannah State University. The role of the Safety Coordinator is to advise and assist faculty, staff and students to enable them to ensure that the University's activities are undertaken safely, in accordance with University policy, and in compliance with legal requirements. This is accomplished by providing general advisory service, compliance inspections, and the maintenance of safety equipment to include: portable fire fighting equipment (extinguishers), fire alarms, emergency lighting, and egress repair. The provision of personal protective equipment and assistance in the provision of safety training.
