Information Technology
Mission
The
Department of Computer Services and Information Technology (CSIT) explores
and implements appropriate uses of technology to support academic and
administrative programs in instruction, research, creative activities, and
service. CSIT provides local and remote access to university resources,
programs, and services. Additionally, in partnership with other
university departments, CSIT provides, maintains, and works to improve
university administrative functions, including student information, human
resources, and financial systems.
We are committed to
maintaining a solid network infrastructure that supports diverse computing
environments necessary for the administration, faculty, staff, and students
to effectively access information from distributed systems. Our primary
focus is to oversee all major IT components, which include administrative
and academic computing, policies and procedures, data processing and
retrieval, networking, telecommunications, data security, disaster
preparedness, and approved hardware and software support. Our mission
will be accomplished through the continued support and advancement of
information technology.
Vision
Computer Services and Information Technology (CSIT) contributes to the
development of students by providing a diverse, dynamic learning
environment. CSIT’s commitment to excellence, coupled with its commitment to
continuous improvement, will result in an increasing utilization of
information technology resources to achieve its academic and administrative
goals.
