Giving to SSUCE
SUPPORT LIFELONG LEARNING THROUGH CONTINUING EDUCATION
Alumni and friends of lifelong learning play a particularly important
role in shaping the future of Continuing Education at Savannah State
University. Their private gifts of cash enable us to purchase
technology, maintain and expand our programs and facilities, and provide
professional development for faculty and education opportunities for
adult learners.
Savannah State University takes pride in its continuing legacy as
Georgia's first public Historically Black College and University (HBCU)
and as an American education tradition. But direct public support does
not begin to cover the costs of operating budget dollars for Continuing
Education. Designated as profit–centers of the University, Continuing
Education programs must pass operating costs on to program consumers
through registration fees.
Private gifts from individuals, civic groups, small business, and
non-profit organizations to SSU Continuing Education uniquely position
our program above others. Through the generosity of alumni and friends
of lifelong learning, private gifts give us a competitive edge in the
education marketplace and secure the future of the University's
Continuing Education program.
