SSU-Morehouse football game moved to Atlanta
August 3, 2007
Savannah, Ga. -- The Savannah State University football team will play
Morehouse College in Atlanta, Ga., on October 13 at 7:00 p.m. The teams will
not participate in the CSRA Classic in Augusta, Georgia, this season.
"The game has been relocated because of the CSRA Classic Committee's
inability to honor the same financial obligations of previous agreements,"
SSU athletic director Robert "Tony" O'Neal said. "While the change is
unfortunate, relocating the game will give our alumni, boosters and other
supporters in Atlanta a much-needed opportunity to see the Tigers showcase
their talent."
The last time the Tigers played a football game in the state's capital was
on October 10, 1998. The Tigers defeated Morris Brown, 19-16, in Herndon
Stadium. |
