Mercer Rolls Past Tigers 27-1

MACON, Ga- Mercer scored 15 runs in the third inning and went on to roll past Savannah State 27-1 at Claude Smith Field.
The Bears pounded out 27 hits while using eight pitchers to limit SSU to just five hits.
Savannah State scored its lone run in the top of the third on Brian Johnson's solo home run.
In the bottom of the inning, Mercer had 15 runners cross the plate, had 14 hits and left the bases loaded.
The Bears scored one run in the fourth, fifth and sixth innings and added two in the seventh and seven more in the eighth.
Santos Adames had a pair of singles for SSU (17-16). Jarrel Arnold took the loss for the Tigers. Arnold pitched two innings and gave up eight hits and eight runs.
Nick Dimauro had four hits and seven RB for Mercer (16-23).
