Blue Hose Wins Double-Header

CLINTON, S. C.- Presbyterian swept a double-header from Savannah State at the PC Baseball Complex. The Blue Hose won game one 18-8 and completed the sweep with a 12-5 victory in the nightcap.
Presbyterian improves to 10-22 with the wins while the Tigers fell to 17-15.
In game one, both teams scored four runs in the first inning. Presbyterian added four more in the bottom of the second for a 8-4 lead. The Tigers sliced their deficit to 8-7 by scoring twice in the third and once in the fourth.
PC added three runs in the bottom of the fourth to increase their advantage to 11-7.
Two runs in the fifth and five in the sixth gave Presbyterian a 18-7 lead. SSU scored one in the seventh.
The Tigers made three errors and stranded nine base runners.
Matt Nowacki had three RBI for the Tigers. Robert Ramsdale took the loss on the mound. Ramsdale pitched three innings and gave up 10 runs and five walks.
In the nightcap, the game was tied 5-5 after three innings of action.
Presbyterian scored twice in the fifth to go ahead 7-5. The Blue Hose added five runs in the sixth to break open a close game and get the win.
Alfred Arnold went the distance for the Tigers, giving up 12 runs and five walks.
At the plate, Matt Oglesby drove in two runs.
